Privacy Policy
Last updated: October 21, 2026
This policy explains what information Rubric (the “App”) collects, why, and what choices you have. The short version: we only collect what we need to answer your questions and run your subscription, and we don’t sell your data.
1. What we collect
- The question you select. When you click on a question, the App sends that part of the screen (as text or an image) to our servers so an answer can be generated. Nothing is captured until you click.
- Google sign-in. You sign in to the App with your Google account. From Google we receive only your name, email address, and profile picture. We use them only to create your account, sign you in, and show which account is signed in.
- Account and billing details. Your email address and subscription status. Payments are handled by our payment provider; we never see or store your full card number.
- Basic usage data. Search counts (to apply your plan limit), app version, and crash reports, so we can fix problems.
2. How we use it
- To generate answers and show them to you.
- To manage your subscription, search limits, and support requests.
- To keep the App secure and working well.
We don’t use your captured questions or your Google account information for advertising, and we don’t sell or rent your personal information.
Rubric’s use and transfer of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
3. Who we share it with
We share data only with service providers that help us run the App, such as our hosting provider, the AI service that generates answers, and our payment provider. They may use it only to provide their service to us. We may also disclose information if the law requires it.
4. How long we keep it
Captured questions are kept only as long as needed to return an answer and handle short-term troubleshooting, then deleted. Account and billing records are kept while your account is active and afterwards as long as required for tax and legal reasons.
5. Your choices and rights
You can delete your account at any time: sign in on our website (gorubric.vercel.app) and choose Delete account from the menu. Your account and its data are deleted 30 days later; signing in during those 30 days lets you restore it.
You can also ask us to access, correct, or delete your personal information, or to close your account, by emailing help.rubric@gmail.com. Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights under local law (for example, GDPR or CCPA), and you can contact your local data protection authority.
6. Children
The App isn’t intended for children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has given us personal information, contact us and we’ll delete it.
7. Security
Data is sent over encrypted connections and access is limited to what’s needed to run the service. No system is perfectly secure, but we take reasonable steps to protect your information.
8. Changes
If we change this policy, we’ll update the date at the top and, for significant changes, let you know through the App or our website.
